Why do the number of connections on my controller not match the Guests Connections Report?

Controllers define a connection as follows, “when a client device connects to an AP in any way. A device does not have to be authenticated in order to have a client connection with the AP.”

The Smart WiFi platform requires guests to be fully authenticated, via our RADIUS servers before they are counted as  Guest. If a guest has not been fully authenticated, it will not appear on the Guest Connections Report.

As a result, the number of guest connections on a controller may not be one to one with the Smart WiFi platform Guest Connections Report.
