Configure Cambium Networks Devices

The following instructions outline how to setup a Cambium network for the Marketing4WiFi Platform.  This guide covers details such as configuring RADIUS, walled garden entries, and captive portals.  This guide assumes that your Cambium equipment is already operational and on a live network. Please make sure any firewall rules, web content filters, and other security measures have been configured to interface with the platform.

1. Create WLAN

Click on Configuration icon in the left hand column, then click on WLAN and AP Groups

Click on New WLAN.

Give the WLAN a name and enter the SSID you would like to use.

2. AAA Server configuration

Click on AAA Servers on the left and configure to the settings below:

RADIUS Authentication Servers:
Host 1: This will be provided to you
Port: 1812
Secret: This will be provided to you
Host 2: This will be provided to you
Port: 1812
Secret: This will be provided to you
Timeout: 10
Attempts: 3

RADIUS Accounting Servers:
Host 1: This will be provided to you
Port: 1813
Secret: This will be provided to you
Host 2: This will be provided to you
Port: 1813
Secret: This will be provided to you
Timeout: 10
Attempts: 3
Accounting Mode: Start-Interim-Stop
Accounting Packet: Enable Accounting-On messages

Advanced Settings:
Server Pool Mode: Failover
NAS-Identifier: This will be provided to you
Dynamic VLAN: Unchecked

Click the Save button

3. Configure Splash Page

Click on Guest Access on the left

  • Check Enable
  • Portal Mode:  External Hotspot
  • Access Policy: Radius
  • Redirect Mode: HTTP
  • External Page URL: This will be provided to you
  • External Portal: Standard
  • Success Action: Redirect user to External URL
  • Prefix Query Strings in Redirect URL: checked
  • Redirect URL: This will be provided to you

Whitelist: Please add all the wildcard walled garden entries found at the default walled garden list.

Save the WLAN.

4. Add WLAN to AP Group

  1. Click on Configuration icon in the left hand column, then click on WLAN and AP Groups.
  2. Click the AP Groups Tab and select the AP Group you want to apply the WLAN to.
  3. Click on the Configure tab for the AP Group and select Add WLAN to pick the WLAN to add to the AP Group.
